At the Akani Simbine Foundation, we believe in developing champions—not just on the track, but in every aspect of life. That’s why this past week was dedicated to something crucial: Testing Week for our athletes under Fast Lane Athletics.
This wasn’t just any routine evaluation. Conducted in partnership with PAL (Physical Active Literacy), the testing was a comprehensive deep-dive into what makes each of our athletes unique. From speed and endurance to brain function, technical skills, and overall athletic ability, each athlete underwent a full spectrum of assessments designed to uncover their strengths, highlight growth areas, and most importantly, help build a roadmap for long-term development.
The aim of this testing? Personalisation. With data from each athlete’s performance, PAL is now able to create specialised training programs that cater specifically to the needs of every individual. Whether it’s refining technique, improving cognitive response, or building endurance, every plan is built to nurture the whole athlete—physically and mentally.
This tailored approach is key to ensuring that our young athletes are not only equipped to compete, but to excel—on and off the track. By investing in science-based, athlete-specific development, we are empowering the next generation to reach their full potential, safely and sustainably.
We’re proud of the work that’s been done, the effort our athletes have shown, and the passion our coaches and partners continue to bring to the table. Testing Week was just the beginning—and from what we’ve seen, the future looks fast, focused, and full of promise.
Keep following the journey. The grind never stops.
