The 919 athletes have enjoyed a remarkable season, achieving major milestones both locally and nationally. Their performances have highlighted the power of discipline, teamwork, and consistent development.

In their first appearance in the English Schools’ Athletics League, the team made an immediate impact, finishing 1st overall out of more than 20 schools. Across six league competitions, the athletes maintained perfect consistency, securing first place at every meet and earning promotion to a higher league for the 2026 season.

Building on this momentum, the athletes went on to compete at the SACCSA National Championships in Pietermaritzburg, their first national-level competition. The team delivered an outstanding performance, returning home with 14 medals: 2 gold, 4 silver, and 8 bronze.

These achievements reflect the dedication of the athletes as well as the support provided by the Akani Simbine Foundation and Fast Lane Athletics, whose partnership has been instrumental in developing the athletes’ skills and confidence.

The season marks a significant step forward for the 919 programme, demonstrating that with the right guidance and opportunities, young athletes can compete and succeed at the highest levels of school sport.
