On Saturday, 21 March, we proudly celebrated the official launch of the 919 Athletics Club at Bryanston High School, marking an exciting new chapter in our journey to support young athletes across Gauteng. The day brought together athletes, parents, coaches, and supporters who share a common vision: creating opportunities for youth to grow, both in sport and in life.
The 919 Athletics Club programme is designed to identify and develop young athletes both on and off the track. While performance and athletic progression remain central, equal importance is placed on personal growth, discipline, education, and character development. Our goal is to nurture well-rounded individuals who are equipped to succeed in all aspects of life, not just in competition
Currently operating within Gauteng, the club provides structured training, mentorship, and guidance to ensure that talented athletes receive the consistent support they need to reach their full potential. Through this initiative, we aim to bridge the gap between raw talent and meaningful opportunity.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Bryanston High School for opening their facilities to us and supporting the successful launch of the club. Their willingness to partner with us has allowed this vision to become a reality, and we are grateful for the role they continue to play in supporting youth development through sport.
We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to Biogen for generously providing goodie bags and treats for the athletes on the day. Their continued support and willingness to show up for us and for the young people we serve does not go unnoticed. Partnerships like these help us create memorable and meaningful experiences for our athletes, and we are truly grateful for their ongoing commitment to our work.
The launch event itself was filled with energy, excitement, and a strong sense of community. It was a powerful reminder that when young people are given the right environment and support system, they are capable of achieving incredible things.
