At the start of the new school year, our team had the privilege of visiting Isekelo Primary School and Claremont Primary School to support learners with one of the most essential — yet often overlooked — parts of their school uniform: proper school shoes. This initiative was made possible through the generous support of TMLT Holdings, whose contribution helped us place 100 new shoes directly into the hands of learners who needed them most.
For many children, a lack of proper footwear can become a real barrier to education. Worn-out or ill-fitting shoes can lead to discomfort, embarrassment, and in some cases, learners staying home from school altogether. By ensuring that students start the year with comfortable, durable shoes, we are not only supporting their physical well-being but also helping to restore confidence and dignity in the classroom.
School shoes may seem like a small item, but they play a significant role in improving school attendance and participation. When learners feel prepared and properly equipped, they are more likely to attend regularly, engage in class activities, and take pride in being part of their school community.
Seeing the smiles on the learners’ faces as they received their new shoes was a powerful reminder of how meaningful simple acts of support can be. We are incredibly grateful to TMLT Holdings for partnering with us to make this possible and for investing in the education and well-being of our young people.
As we continue working to remove barriers to education, initiatives like this help ensure that every child can walk into the classroom with confidence and focus on what truly matters — learning, growing, and building their future.
